Toyota – number 1 worldwide
The battle between the Japanese company and the American giant GM is very tight, the two auto builders occupying first place every three months.
Toyota has taken advantage of the small 0.6% decline of General Motors from the first three months of this year, selling about 2.25 million cars in order to obtain first position. This was also caused by an increase in total sales with 2.7%, reaching 2.41 million.
Japanese officials have stated that this increase was mostly caused by an increased demand on the European market, where there is plenty room for improvement.
