Roewe SUV on the SsanYong platform

Recently images of a new SUV have shown up, which has the shape of the SsangYong Kyron, but the front part is very similar to the new Roewe 550 sedan. It is also similar to the Rover, which is now the property of the Chinese.

After Rover was bought by the Chinese, the Roewe 550 made its appearance, and the plans for revigoration MG haven’t been only laid on paper. The new owners have even bigger plans with the former British brand, by releasing the new SUV Roewe.

It seems that this model will be based on the SsangYong Kyron, and it is going to be assembled in China, while the engines will be delivered from Correea. The launch date is still unknown, but 2009 seems like a plausible year, since the new model will receive only design modifications, in order to be integrated in the Roewe brand.
