Porsche sues London authorities
The German constructor thinks that the decision taken by the mayor of London to increase the agglomeration tax for the majority of Porsche models is illegal and discriminatory.
Ken Livingstone, the mayor of London has decided to increase this tax from 8 to 25 pounds for certain types of automobiles, and this decision will be disputed at the High Court of Justice by a manufacturer who is directly affected by this decision.
Andy Goss, Managing Director of Porsche cars GB stated that “Not only is this tax unfair, but it is also discriminatory and represents an abuse of power”. The Porsche case refers to the protection of London and its citizens from this new tax, which will not succeed in reducing CO2 emissions, but will lead to even more pollution.
