Mercedes Benz G-Class Facelift
The old G-Class suffered a new facelift. The modifications weren’t big, maybe it is wanted for this model to remain almost the same. We have a new frontal grille with only three horizontal bars, and a new set of wheels. The car’s power was increased a little, at two V8s, reaching 388HP.

The top version, G55 Amg was changed too, now having 507 HP. In the interior appeared some new electronic systems for a more luxurious style.

This particular model was a dissapoint to me, I have long admired Mercedes’ new stylings, but this one dropped the bomb. I could only assume that the G-class was designed to crush the British Land Rover, but it isn’t. It still features the boxy 1950 styling which got me to question the designer’s state of mind during the drawing session. You would expect that something this expensive (around 100k) coming from Benz-Mercedes, you would get what you pay for, maybe a 400 HP for the 5.5L that you’ll be burning. The AMG’s 500 HP is worth the bargain for just 10k more. I still don’t understand how this car lives, but oh well, it isn’t me that’s buying it. BUYERS BEWARE!

That’s precisely why you don’t understand, because you’re not even using it, let alone buying it. Ok, it’s a matter of taste, I know.
But this car happens to be probably the best Mercedes ever built, with quality levels at high peaks.

Completelty agree with Sigheti. The Mercedes ‘Gelandewagen’ was the best ever built to plough through torturous terrains. If I had the dough, I’d pick up a G55 AMG or the sweet G500 SWB version.
