It is said that Mercedes will take Aston Martin and a future Aston Martin super car may appear within some years.
Aston Martin AMV10 it’s a virtual proposal which can be a starting point for building a new supersport model with clasic architecture - central engine. The model reminds us of the exclusive Jaguar XJ220, but it keeps untouched some important design elements of the Aston Martin brand.
Geely will come at the Auto Shown in Beijing 2008 with a large range made of 23 new models and compact SUV concept which may be a pleasant surprise.
As we can see on these first drawings of the concept, Geely SUV has a spectacular design. It will be in competition with cars like Ford Kuga or VW Tiguan. It is said that this concept will benefit of a hybrid motorization.
Geely will expose at the auto show another model from the compact category called CE Hatchback and a family car, GE MPV.
One of the most important tuners of the Bavarian brand, AC Schnitzer tuned the new model 6 series. After more than one year from the introducing of the facelift on the actual 6 series, the German tuner got some new accessories and upgrades for the Bavarian coupe. The exterior kit is made by new spoilers, modified doorsteps, and personalized air shafts. This model has some 20″ wheels and a chromed evacuation system.
About the technical part, beside some upgrades for the suspension and the breaking system, AC Schnitzer made a new management program for the diesel engine which is also found on the 635d. So, the power was raised from 286 HP to 310 HP. 650i wasn’t forgot too, its power was rased from 311 HP to 367 HP, and it now touches a maximum speed of 285 km/h.
A British man succeeded to run about 190.000 km with just one set of tires which were used on his Land Rover, model Defender 90.
Even if a set of tires can last 50.000-100.000 km in the best case, the Land Rover possessor beat a record, 190.000 km with only one set of tires! Very economical I can say. This distance is equivalent with 5 trips around the globe. Even after that amount kilometeres, the tires are still good and can be used again.
Subaru and Toyota are planning a new popular coupe. The guys from Autocar have even got a sketch of the future model.
The picture is from a source from Subaru, the department of design is still on job until the last modifications for the exterior are done. As the guys from the Autocar said, this future coupe will have back transmission for reducing the costs and the exterior will be very differentially between Subaru and Toyota variants.
The technical part will be done more by Subaru, which will cater the engines. Even if the principal target is making an accessible sport car, there could be a top variant too, with full transmission and a turbo engine. The production may start on 2010.
Scion, the subsidiary Toyota designed for young people, is oriented towards the most popular activity among the young Japanese, drifting, thus preparing this model for the line up at the Formula D1.
In order to make this car eye catching radical modifications were needed. First of all, the series version of the Scion tC has front wheel drive, which is not so good for drifting. Fortunately, the model is built on an All Wheel drive platform. The change in traction and propulsion caused the engine to be mounted longitudinally, in order to transmit power easier to the rear wheels.
Because 161 HP wasn’t enough to burn some rubber, the power was increased to 400 HP. This was possible by mounting a 3SGE Beams propulsor, as well as a turbo unit and a HKS GT3037 intercooler, a Blitz Dual SBC boost controller, all of which are monitored by the AEM EMS management system. The breaks, the transmission, the suspension and the clutch were all upgraded in order to offer more agility in drifting.
